Just saw the movie with the Reno Tahoe Chapter of the AIGA. Thanks to Jeff and Leilani for inviting me. I’m a writer. A content guy. It says as much on my business card. So design is an interesting diversion. Especially when designers talk about the power of type and the universality of Helvetica and how type can effect meaning, or tone, or at least first impressions. So naturally I thought of my favorite short story on Type and Typography: X-ing a Paragrab, By Edgar Allen Poe. I don’t want to say too much about it. I think this passage pretty much sums it all up quite succinctly:

Sx hx, Jxhn! hxw nxw? Txld yxu sx, yxu knxw. Dxn’t crxw, anxther time, befxre yxu’re xut xf the wxxds! Dxes yxur mxther knxw yxu’re xut?
